Privacy Policy

Overview

DubTowa is a browser-based audio application that runs entirely on your device. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Data Collection

We collect minimal personal data only when you choose to provide it.

  • All audio processing happens locally in your browser using the Web Audio API
  • Audio files you load are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to any server
  • We do not use cookies or any form of persistent tracking

Analytics

We use privacy-focused analytics to understand how our website is used. Our approach prioritizes your privacy:

What we collect:

  • Page views and time spent on pages
  • Button clicks (e.g., navigating to the app)
  • Aggregated metadata: screen size category (small/medium/large), browser language, referring domain, and connection quality
  • Country information derived from your IP address (your IP is never stored)

Privacy safeguards:

  • No cookies — We do not use cookies for analytics
  • No personal identification — We use a daily rotating hash to estimate unique visitors without tracking individuals across sessions or days
  • No fingerprinting — We do not collect device fingerprints or other identifying information
  • Data minimization — We only collect what we need to improve the website

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service that does not use cookies, does not track users across sites, and is GDPR compliant.

Local Storage

DubTowa may use your browser's local storage to save your preferences and settings (such as effect parameters). This data remains on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

Service Worker & Offline Use

DubTowa uses a service worker to enable offline functionality as a Progressive Web App (PWA). The service worker caches application assets locally on your device to allow the app to work without an internet connection. No personal data is involved in this process.

Third-Party Services

DubTowa uses the following third-party services:

  • Cloudflare — For hosting, content delivery, and privacy-focused web analytics. Cloudflare may collect technical data such as your IP address for security purposes (e.g., DDoS protection). See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

We do not use any advertising networks or sell your data to third parties.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — Request correction of any inaccurate data
  • Deletion — Request deletion of your data from our systems
  • Unsubscribe — Opt out of communications at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. You can also clear your browser's local storage at any time to remove any saved app preferences.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
